BEWARE! Do not buy from Electorica on Ebay!

Bought a motor 8 days ago and still not even shipped! He said it takes 20 days! Ebay already had it to be delivered by today! Guy orders and then sends to you. He needs to put the 20 day wait on his ads! Also his "39 dish" is really about 35 wide! Horrible seller!
Multiple people on here have had "misleading" experiences with them. Sorry for your troubles!

I'm sympathetic to your experience dealing with a bad Ebay seller but there are mechanisms to deal with transaction issues on Ebay instead of venting here.

You know he's based in Canada, and will have to ship across the border, right?

Yes, but he didnt even have the item and he shipped 2 weeks after I ordered! I understand if it takes a while once shipped, but if you are going to wait 2 full weeks before shipping it needs to be in the listing. Ebay tells them to ship a few days after the order. He also provided a tracking label to act like he shipped quickly but didnt. He sells stuff that he doesnt have then waits to get money then uses it to order and keeps profit. Thats against Ebays policy. He told me he didnt have the motor. Lol

If it's the guy I'm thinking of with the seller name starting with E. I pondered buying one of the 39" dishes.
Was planning a trip to Rochester NY where the location was to save shipping and see other things he had.
Asked if it was in stock. Yes. Could I stop by and pick it up? NO.
"He has several warehouses in the US and only ships from them". Red flag and "something smells fishy".

Yes he just uses the money you pay then takes a portion and orders it for you then sends. He is very unprofessional too. Also the dish is not a true 39. I actually bought one from him years ago, yes dumb me I know, and it was like 35 inches by 37 if I remember correctly, no bigger than a Geosat.

Yes, I believe he was using the external reflector lip as part of the diameter (e.g. this was the diameter of the raw steel prior to being stamped).

Over four years ago, he shipped me a motor with a throat diameter that didn't match the back mount hardware for the reflector I bought in the same order. His refusal to fix the matter is what brought me to this site in the first place - to figure out how to mate two dissimilar components together.

Everyone else's mileage may vary.

Yes will definetly never do business with him again!

I have had a couple of things they sell saved on my watch list for quite a while now. Due to the experiences here I am definitely thinking twice about them. Thanks for the heads up!

When living near Toronto, I asked to pick up a 1.2-metre Ku dish from TEK2000 with an advertised address in a Toronto suburb. It was a short drive on the other side of town. And I could throw it in my van. They said no without any further explanation. I've never done business with TEK2000. Dr. Sat said come on over and pick one up.

I always had a suspicion that TEK and 'him' were one in the same.
Bad blood between me and a TEK purchase of a motor for a Superjack. The one I needed was for a 2" tube and the one I got was smaller. Like 1/8" or so. He swore that the one for my tube was correct. No effort to open the box of his stock to see if he might have one with a 2" I.D. No further replies to emails.
Good thing I have a friend with a mill. I ended up opening it up to the right diameter. Still using it....which is surprising considering the build quality. New. Brush ring terminal screws were loose and the terminal block was good for practically one use. Microswitches were the cheapest of the cheap. A single dab of grease in the reduction gears.
Weak pole on the sector magnet for the sensor that caused missed counts. Not his fault. But not willing to check anything was. Oh well.
I buy everything that I can on eBay using paypal. If a seller even burps over a purchase, a call to paypal with a clear description and records of conversations stops the garbage in its place. I got money back immediately and got a few sellers banned. Not saying that they can come back under a different name.
Reviews? I recently read where there are groups that are pay-per-positive review. Hence you might buy one thing and the review mentions another unrelated item.
You gotta' be wise. Message first. I don't buy any electronic components from sketchy sellers after a tasty assortment in a fancy box of ST Microelectronics logo 78XX and LM series 3 pin voltage regulators turned up all fakes. W/O ranting. A 5 V reg. getting hot and shutting down on 0.5 amp. Several 12 V regs.with actual regulation all-Over-the place.
At the very least a gov. entity needs to crack down on garbage like this. So I learned. Digikey, Newark, Mouser it is from now on as much as I can. Even Aliexpress is iffy.
