In "the BB universe", there is no amount of logic that would prompt Danny Reagan to move from NYC to Boston. This will backfire on CBS, I have no doubt. I loved BB, but this whole idea stinks! If they want more Blue Bloods, they should have kept Blue Bloods. The whole cast was willing to "take a hit" financially to keep it on.

On BB, there usually 4 concurent stories going on involving...Frank, Erin, Jaimi (and Eddy) and then Danny and Baez. Not sure how a whole Danny-centric show will sit with fans...always looking for (hopes) of guest stars from original cast.

I watched it yesterday on my DVR. Erin and Biaz have cameos. Danny's son Sean also appears but it looks like a different actor is playing him. There's lots of action and a big parallel to Blue Bloods. Too early to tell if it's going to work.

Yes, they're trying to make it a parallel show....family dinners, Jewish instead of Catholic. One sister is superintendent. Yes, Sean is a different actor but they look similar. I don't think it will make it. Just too much NOT there. And remember, Danny's time was usually only a third or fourth of a typical Blue Bloods episode. A whole hour of him can wear thin. And I already can't stand "Brooklyn/Bean Town".

I pretty much gave up on OTA network TV 10 years ago, stopped watching new shows but continues to watch shows I was already watching until they ended. I was down to just Blue Bloods and Bob's Burgers. But I decided to give Boston Blue a try, since I was watching Blue Bloods.

I haven't watched yesterdays episodes yet, but I'm mixed on the first two.

I've read a few things on the decision to recast Sean, and the explanations don't really make a whole hell of a lot of sense. My theory is the original Sean got to be too fat. Not saying there aren't fat cops, but as a rookie cop just out of the academy he wouldn't be that fat. And no judging here, I'm a fat porker if you put the original Sean next to me, he'd look like a Starvin Marvin in comparison. Or he just had enough and wanted to give up on acting.

The whole premise of the show doesn't make sense. Not once in Blue Bloods did this secondary character, who's role was mainly reduced to Sunday Dinner scenes showed any real ambition to be in the family business. And I know we have to suspend reality for fictional TV, but Blue Bloods did have some real NYPD consultants on the show, no way would two rookie cops right out of the academy be partners and riding together.

The writers have tried to create the same dynamic of a family full of people in law enforcement, and in Boston Blue it's too confusing, who is whose half brother/adopted brother, what role they are in.

I'll stick with this for a while to see where it goes, but I don't see it lasting more than a season. During the opening scenes of the pilot the filming/transition style had a CSI feel to it for me, then on last weeks episode I watched the credits and I see Jerry Bruckheimer is involved with Boston Blue.

Some of the behind the scenes things I've read and seen on Blue Bloods over the years, the writers would insert little jabs at Donnie being a native Bostonian, like having him root for the Jets in an episode, and the NY Rangers flag that was hung in the entryway of his house. So it was kind of funny to see him in the Mets jersey.

Canelling Blue Bloods was a HUGE mistake for CBS. It's whole friday night line-up is adrift. Boston Blue was DOA. Sherrif's Country is rudderles , and CODIE Country needs to burn.out. Al three should be cancelled, but the "Country's" will probably stick around.
