ok been working on my motorized ku system ( primestar 84e with a hughes lnbf)
its a 120 ft run ( my old 120 ft run flaked out) so i have it running to a ground block and into my satellite / computer room. its cloudy and raining and signal is right above the threshold for my coolsat 5000 its at 87% signal and 72% Quality and the RTN channels are breaking up due to low signal and weather
so i have enough coax to run it all the way into the sat/computer room without the ground block. so i run it straight to the coolsat and plug everything in and it still raining and cloudy outside and the signal is now 92% and Quality is still 72% but its not breaking up all channels watchable .... who would have thought the grounding block would make that much of a difference.
and for those of you who say its the Quality that counts ...... well maybe not all the time.
