OK, wasted an hour and a half on an incredibly badly done Sherlock Holmes story on PBS last night The Abominable Bride. This is what comes out of smoke filled rooms (and we have a pretty good idea what they're smoking) when there's no sane person present to say "Whoa!". They stole elements from everything, including Laurie King's books and "The Seven-Per-Cent Solution", and just inserted dialogue randomly as if the writer's (if you can call them that) were given 10 minutes to flesh out a script. It went blindly from a story about a serial killer bride, to inserting Moriarty for no useful purpose (considering he didn't really exist), to women's suffrage, with the most ridiculous denouement at the end that I have ever seen and they think this is worthy of a limited theater engagement? It'll be a very long time, if ever, before they suck me in again.
