Bubba Remains at Sirius XM!

Bubba Army Bubba Army.

There is some discussion about people thinking he won't be "LIVE" from 3pm-7pm et, just replayed. And from reading between the lines I tend to agree.

When Howard called into Bubbas show to announce that he re-signed there was some mention of the "capacity" that they would be back.

My guess is Bubba is doing his SIRIUS show on another SIRIUS Channel live from 11am-3pm or that he is doing the show live on BubbaRaw.com and it will be replayed at 3pm. Either way I think his show will be replayed at 3pm.

Hell, the guy has said over and over he can't take the grueling hours of the 6am and 3pm shows. By leaving at 3pm it will alleviate a lot of that.

TSS Taylor, I immediately thought that too when they were talking about it. Or his morning show will just be played and/or repeated later in the day on Sirius.

I don't know how they could do another 2 years of 2 shows a day even if it was one right after another. I work in radio and used to host a weekday 4 hour talk show...it is exhausting! I have a new respect for the boys in Tampa!

I saw Bubba recently and I hope whatever his new schedule will be, it will help him get a little healthier.

Yeah I agree about the lifestyle and workload being healthier. I think that will make a big impact in a positive way on the show. Where did you see Bubba?
What is your show on? And what's it about?

I saw him about a month ago in Jacksonville. We have a few people in common that we both have worked with including his first PD.

I don't do terrestrial radio anymore. I got out in the late 90s when station corporations starting deep cutting salaries and going more towards voice tracking most stations.

I feel very lucky to had worked in radio in the 80s and 90s when everything was live, you could be creative and make a decent living. Now most shifts (at least on music radio) is all mostly recorded on computers and you don't make crap.

I'm now the Program Director of an alternative music internet radio station based in Canada. I keep busy between that and being a business partner in a computer/tech company.

I'm sorry to say I was right about that...there was no way they could keep doing 2 shows a day for the next 2 years...who knows, maybe this is what Sirius wanted to do instead of Bubba.

Hopefully they can do a some stuff just for Sirius listeners at times... maybe a Friday show since Stern isn't live that day.

Since he has a done deal with Sirius, I'm sure Bubba's priority now is to build his morning show since he probably gets close to an extra 6 figures each time they add a new market.

Bubba said he wouldn't sign for any less than maddog russo got.I think he got 3 mil a year.

Evidently it's closer to $3,000 than $3 Mil a year. I'm not a Bubba fan but simply replaying the terrestrial show is crap. That's not why we pay Sirius/XM for content.

I would imagine all the Bubba marks who knocked down the Sirius call centers and email to keep him on Sirius and help him renew his contract are sh*tting their pants right now. I was a semi-fan and I was concerned about him renewing, but I also knew they could not continue the 2-a-days they were doing. Unfortunately the fact is terrestrial was paying and Sirius was not.

The Bubba Army may revolt on him regardless. The forum on BTLS.com is getting ugly...

I guess this forum ate my post that I made last night...so here it is again.

Bubba made a post on his forums and also sent out an email to some trying to explain what went down.

I AM SORRY YOU ARE UPSET, I KNEW YOU WOULD BE
Hello evefyone, and yes i have read the postings, i have recieved some phone calls, and i know you are upset. I knew this would happen. If there is one thing i know, its my audience and what they want and expect. i would like to address some issues here and now. i dont know if i can talk about these issues on air, so i will do my best to do it here

1. "bubba sold us out" "bubba worked us" you have no idea how much this hurts and disturbs me. i begged sirius not to take this option, we had other options and this was the last last last one, that they took, due to the economy. they could not continue to pay us what we deserved for an exclusive show, so as a last ditch effort they decided on this...again, i am not happy about it and i am sorry, but why am i to blame.

2. 2 years ago when they refused to give me a fair deal, they basically told me in order to get the money you think you deserve go do regular radio if you think you can....and they told me that i would fail, rather than to pay us, they bet against us.......this is the reason why we are in the situation right now....so we went on and did well at regular radio. again why are we the bad guys...

3. the only thing us guys wanted was to get our lives back...my health has gotten worse, my marriage isnt doing that well, and i never ever get to spend anytime with my kids....i would leave my house at 430am in the morning and not get back till 8pm and go right to bed.....why do i have to do two shows in order to make the kind of money that other radio personallities do for 4 hours a day.....again, why is this my fault..

4. i am sorry if you felt i betrayed you, thats the last thing i wanted.
i know you are going to cancel your raw subs, i know you wont buy any more merch, i know this is a sh*t storm, and i am sorry for all of that,

but i will trade all of that for what i got to do today, i got to pick up my kids from school today, and take them out to dinner, and then we went on a bike ride as a family......

again, i am very sorry you feel this way, and i hope something some day gets us all back together the way we used to be....

thank u for everything,
