I want to sign up with DirecTV and I want the Genie, but I've seen it mentioned on their site that there may be a 2 TV minimum (for the Genies). I only want one TV hooked up though.

Will DirecTV still give me a Genie with only one TV hooked up?

a few months ago (we are a LSP dealer) a new directv customer only wanted the genie - no clients AT ALL - and directv came back with a $99 charge (customer had five star rating). it seems that directv wants those mirroring fees.

Easy fix, add a client and have the tech leave it in the box. Right after the tech leaves, call and have the client canceled off the account. I've done this a couple times for customers to save them $99

I don't know about new accounts, but I've done a few upgrade orders for a standalone genie for $0 with no charge. I think it depends on what channel you use to upgrade.
