Can I leave the receiver powered up at all times?

Is there any issues with leaving it on all the time?
I had 'power on' and 'power off' programmed in my remote's macro, but my hr23 was acting weird with repeated tests (power on, power off) so I just thought i'd leave it on.
thanks

As dishrich said, it basically on all the time. The power button only turns off the face panel. If you have it in a bedroom, the blue light ring bothers some people. Although there is a way to dim or turn that blue ring off all the time.

OT a little, but mentioning that Blue Light Ring reminded me of a question for you guys: Does anyone have trouble dimming out that center light? I seem to have problems when I try pressing the L & R joystick pads simutaneously. Sometimes I turn my box off and back on and it seems to behave a little better. Either way, I usually have to do multiple "presses" on those 2 ring buttons to get the light to dim out. I remember when I first got the box I didn't have that much trouble with it.

Also, I assume it's true that, after a software update, the ring light is activated? That's wen I have to dim it back out.

The easiest way I have found to dim the ring is to hold one of the buttons and then press the other one. Four presses will turn it off. The ring will light up after a restart, which happens after an update.

Thanks for the responses. That's good news to me. I didn't look forward to reprogramming my macros.

I wouldn't do it!! My grandfather accidentally left his on at the beach house in April. When we came back in June the blue ring was green and the receiver could not be touched because it was so hot. It fried the whole receiver. If you leave it on, monitor the heat. Just a heads up!

It has been stated that when you put it in Standby(Power Off) that that's when the DVR performs "house keeping" so if you always power off it should operate better.;)
