WOW!!!
So we get a call at 8:30 am this morning asking why we cancelled our dtv service!!! So i tell the lady as to why we cancelled. So i explained as to why we cancelled our service number one we were not under a contract and now was the perfect time to run like hell and run like your hairs on fire!!! So i explained that they gave us a free year of service and they lost that and said that i was sick of calling in every month and trying to get the reps to credit the acct telling me that there seeing the notes on my acct and them coming up with lame excuses why there not going to credit my acct. one rep even gave us a snark remark telling us there not in business to give away free service i get that. but when your customer cancels out 15 accts within 3 months they know it's bad and is allowed to walk with no etf. so the rep asked if there was a way to win us back i was like i dunno. then i told em the only wat to win us back is to continue our free year!!! the rep was hesitant but they put us on hold and went to a higher up and they just tossed the amount to cover the remaining time left the rep even asked if we would come back if they just gave us the free year all over again. i just said i dunno there's all kinds of crap on my account that we did not authorize!!! the rep made sure there was nothing else on the acct other than what we authorized!!! as i explained to the rep it's a system glitch and it has been going on for 6-7 months and the craps getting old. they did re authorize the year free for all our troubles and they some how put a nice credit on my acct so the system won't get all stupid. we did end up going back hope to hell it's fixed this time . they know were shopping around for another service. no one should be having to call in pulling there hair out yelling and screaming wanting to throw the remote at the t.v.!!!. Hell i can't get them to take my acct away from AT&T it will happen when it does is all we hear even after telling em AT&T'S billing system for direct is a disaster!!!

they also sent us an e-mail saying that we owned everything including the genie 2 and the 4k clients. there ours to keep!!! and we could reactivate them at any time if we wanted. the rep also said there changing things around from how AT&T ran it.. i remember AT&T wanted the genies and 4k clients back.. they would not even let you buy one..

Yup, I have a Genie and an HR 24 and a wireless C61k ...
They don't want any of them.

they e-mailed us saying we owned the 4k minis and the server. and we could use it at anytime if we wanted.. there reasoning was there changing things around from how AT&T ran it wich was into the ground!!! the only thing they would want back now are the gemini's why who knows!!! i don't think it can be converted into just a streaming box like the ospry boxes

Thats beyond Bizarre ... seeing they have been using a Rental (you don't own ) anything for Many many years now ...

I still have my stuff sitting around, collecting dust.
They never said anything about using it at any other time.

it stated the hardware was leased in the contract but that was during the old AT&T days it still states it's leased if you sign up today... hmmm maybe they know the ends coming and they don't want anything back maybe it has something to do with overhead and taxes also who knows. i thought it was bizarre a rep would say that to. i know during the ATT days some of the installers would try to sell you an HR-54!!! when it was leased

I finally started getting DTV-branded "bill is ready" emails beginning with the cycle that started earlier this month. I still get AT&T-branded "thank you" emails, however.
My account log-in and overview are both on DirecTV.com

i heard there moving acct's on att to dtv on a state by state basis could be a while before ones acct is moved over!!!

I'm thinking they they have already decided the future is Streaming, thus not wanting the Sat stuff back.

I think most people have been moved back to DIRECTV long ago. It was years ago when they moved my account back.

Yes they can but they are pretty dated hardware wise and they already refuse to supply them to new customers. The only thing you can get is the Gemini Air on streaming from DIRECTV. I suppose they could start offering them to stream customers again.

if they're not manufacturing the wired ones anymore, maybe they are taking some back to keep a small supply for replacements? I imagine there are some customers that can't do wifi for some reason or another

I didn't realize they were dated though. I thought the gemini and the gemini air were the same generation?

Have my HR-54 just sitting around....when I cancled they said keep it....its been maybe 4 months....never trust them from changing there minds
