I used to be able to offload DVR content in HD to my D-VHS deck but now if I play a DVR recording with vcr input set to firewire for cable box I get a black screen. If I switch my TV to the vcr input I can see the HD program playing back but there isn't any sound, also only stop and play commands work on DVR while watching this (no FF or REW). I've tried unplugging both units to reboot but no luck. If I switch vcr to any other input than firewire the DVR recording will play back fine. I checked Comcast box service menu and firewire settings are same as before: 1394 active-no enabled-yes. I can still record live from cable to D-VHS through firewire. Anyone else know anything about this? I'm in southeast PA.

I am having the same problem. It started after Comcast forced a firmware/programming update on my receiver. Has anyone found out more information or workarounds? I'm in Jacksonville, FL.
