Can't view other channel while recording

Everytime I try to record one thing while watching another, my DVR wants me to either switch to the other tuner or to stop recording. How do you switch tuners?

Do you have inputs into both tuners. Sounds like a tuner is not getting a signal. To my knowledge, the HR-2X series dvrs cannot 'switch' tuners back and forth like the Tivos could!

I have an HR 22. I have inputs into both tuners. I switched cables between Sat in 1 and 2 - both cables give me a signal on 1. It doesn't seem like Satellite in 2 is working.

when you switched cables did you move the B-Band converter too, or just the cable? However, if it is a bad BBC, you should still get some channels. What does your signal meter say? 0's all across or just some?

I had the same problem last month, it was a bad B-band converter

It's brand new.

Doesn't matter. I got a brand new R15-500 that had a bad tuner. Zeros on all transponders on tuner 2 - no matter what. Had to wait 5 days for a cross ship replacement.

However I see you got it working with a reset.

I have been wondering about that as well. I have a HR-21 and could not find anything in the manual about switching between tuners.
