Dish has been mailing out replacement cards based on a new security system. This board does not get into details of hacking. But, the basic system is that people reprogram the card and reciever to give them more channels than they pay for. DIRECTV and Dish are both sending out new cards to fight this. It is hard to say if the new cards will be successful or not.
