I do security cam installation. I had some extra baluns that are passive- non powered. They convert video 75 ohm to cat 5 twisted pair.

I used cat 5 cable to connect a small LCD tv on my uncles kitchen counter. I used 3 pairs -composite video, left and right audio. The individual baluns transmit analog video and audio fine!

Those baluns I got on eBay for 1.99 each with free shipping. I used 6 total single baluns with bnc to RCA adaptors.

I used the composite video jacks on his directv dvr. The kitchen tv has to display the same channel as the living room but it saves him receiver fee. Pic quality looks quite good even though it's not HD.
