What I like about this switch is that it does NOT seem to require a separate DC power supply. I have a 4x8 Zinwell that requires this. I'm gonna try this tomorrow.

Has anyone used this switch or similar? Are there any drawbacks of NOT using a powered switch? I hope not since it saves me a coax run just for DC power.

Often passive switches provide unreliable switching or voltage drops affecting LNB polarity selection. Can be problematic with mutiple STBs on separate power sources. Usually they work fine.
