I was just thinking on this for a bit. Naturally you'd need a larger dish (30cm's or more) but was curious.

Also could you use this to get HDTV programming from cable? Just wondering

Technically, yes....

The Voom receiver (hardware) has the capability of receiving both free-to-air Digicypher-2 and DVB signals, but the firmware (software) doesn't support free-to-air reception. A guy called Ultatryon has a project that is aiming to create a new firmware for the receiver to make the satellite tuner, which is useless for the moment worth something.

That site is looking pretty dead. It would be interesting though if that did work....

wont work due to the software in the box. If it worked, it could only get DCII free stuff.

I tried it with a different motorola box and couldnt get it to work correctly :(
