You just did. By posting a reply you have subscribed and will get email when a post is done and when you look at the threads you will see a little green bar on the left.

I have posted to many threads on this and other forums, and never get an email when a reply happens.

Perhaps I was not clear, I am a subscriber to SatelliteGuys and I want to subscribe to this specific thread.

None of the other threads that I participate in send me an email when I post to them, there is a button to click somewhere that marks the thread so replies are emailed to the user, I cannot find it on this new format of a forum.

I click on Thread tools and it says "show printable version", that's all.

Maybe I need to turn something on somewhere in setup?

The hardware is not a piece of junk at all. It is rather over-engineered and actually can stream HD from TV2 for the first time ever. (The Slingbox Pro HD cannot do that, since there are no analog HD outputs for TV2). It's the software, and in particular the lack of a standalone player, that just cripples the whole idea.

Exactly... hardware wise it is fine. Software wise forcing people to view it through some dumb website...not so smart. Like I said before I'm spoiled by a full slingbox, this Slingbox Ultralite is something else. I can not watch this one on my lunch break like I do with my regular Slingbox since we can't get to the dish online website on the proxy server. Another one I thought of....what if I want my buddy to watch my slingbox? I have to give him my Dish account ID and password?!?!?! what?!?! The regular slingbox you just give them the sling ID and guest password. And if you want to kick them out you simply login with the admin password and it stops them from viewing the slingbox.

The SlingboxPro HD is still a better unit over all. See: http://www.satelliteguys.us/255370-dear-friends-note-about-sling-adapter-26.html#post2544331

and tell us how the interface compares.

Once again- Agreed!!!

There is an option to get notification if you reply by "Go Advanced"

Go to Settings at the very top. Then select "My Account" under "My Settings." Then look at "Default Thread Subscription Mode:" then make a selection, such as "Daily, using email." Make sure you've checked the box above that allowing you to receive email from administrators, just in case.

They asked me for a credit card number for the $99. However at My Billing, there is anextra $8 added to my next months bill.

I can only pull up my current bill at My Billing, but the "Current Balance" is about $108 higher than the bill total, so I think they've done the same thing to me. As you can see from the chat transcript that I posted, they didn't ask me for my credit card number and applied the charge to my account and said they would do the same for the rebate.

I've PMed the DISH Representative Mary on this forum just to make sure everything is OK. It looks like they've charged for shipping and they shouldn't have.

When I click on the four options at the upper right of each thread page (linkback, thread tools, ect.), only the first option is viewable, the first post covers up the other options.

Any Idea how to fix that?

I can see that there are more options but haven't figured out how to access them.

Are the problems people are having just on pc viewing? How does this thing behave on a Droid? That's most likely the only way I'll be viewing through the Sling Adapter.

Sent from my Thunderbolt using SatelliteGuys
I would like to know this too. I haven't ordered mine yet, but I'll use it on my Droid X mostly.

Fiddle with screen resolution?

Fiddle with screen resolution?

Didn't help.

The java script object appears to be behind the posts instead of coming up in front of the posts.

All the other forums I visit, the thread tools drops down over the first thread on the page and has "show printable Version", "Email this page", "Download this thread" and "subscribe to this thread" options showing. Only Satellite Guys appears with the drop down behind the data.

It's possible that the subscribe feature may be down. This is the last post by Scott in a thread about it back in February...

I thought I would PM Scott, but his avatar does not have that option listed with it, others do.

Looks like he is still on Royal Caribbean with PM turned off.

Thats probably the reason for all the hoops to jump through - the content providers (and Dish) don't want your buddy to have access without paying.

Sling stand alone (especially pre-Dish Sling) didn't care as long as you were buying Sling boxes and viewers and didn't have to worry about making providers happy.
