- Tennis channel not a E* exclusive, on D* at 217, and ESPN Deportes on D* at 432

- MLB Extra Innings is D* exclusive in sports.

Thinking about switching from D* to E*

I've been a D* customer since roughly '96 or so. I stuck it out through having my netwrok feeds pulled, and then waited patiently for years while everyone was switching to E* in this area because E* had locals and D* didn't. I also was forced by D* to toss my good RCA receivers with component video out and dolby 5.1 optical outputs for a POS D10 when the networks were finally made available. I am now wanting to feed HD signal to two of my HDTV's and looking to upgrade to DVR service as well. E* is offering free HD DVR and free HD reciever and programming costs will be within a couple of bucks of what I'm paying now on D* (although if I switch I will HD and DVR, on D* I simply have total choice and 1 premium package, no HD and no DVR) I've never been a E* customer, should I switch, will I be happy. I've spoken with D* customer-no-service but havn't gotten anywhere, it seems as though they would want to do something to promote customer retention. They want to charge me 299 for the HD DVR and 99 for the HD reciever, this just seems nuts?

What should I do? Confused?

well, after about 10 years with directv i just switched to dish - about 5 weeks ago. so far so good. i was promised some initial credits (bad install) and did get them - after a few calls tho. i like the 722 a lot- tho there are a few things i don't like. sd quality actually seems better to me with dish - on some channels

Time to update the chart? Direct has added 3 more HD channels (ESPN News HD, Disney HD, and Toon Disney HD), and they changed the channel numbers of Food HD, HGTV HD, and Spike HD. Also, MLB channels are now up for Direct.

This Cool Feature has been out for awhile now(reminds me of my Replays sharing features)...
I managed to get mediashare working on my HR20-700 this weekend with one pc using TVersity.

*When you get the network hooked up the Music, Photo's and More option will come up.

*Be sure you have TVersity running and have selected what folders and or files you want your DirecTV Dvr to access.

I have Replay mpegs burned from HD sources that look and sound very good and can watch from either my Livingroom or HT room... they look as good as they would if shown thru my HD DVD player upconverted.

Both recorded at MQ from same cables on my Replay... changed aspect ratio to 16:9 on VLC before I did the caps...I would have put the dish clip up but didn't want to buy a .Mov converter for $39 ...

Right now Directv's guide information is clubbing Dish Networks guide information... whoever is in charge of the info at Dish Network is abbreviating and losing much/most of the program information, I would have missed many programs if I did not check my Directv guide...
