If Viacom forced to pull BET off tonight. No more Wendy Williams, because unfortunately our market DMA #37 Greenville, SC does not carry Wendy Williams in first-run syndication at ALL. I know Columbia, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach carries Wendy Williams, jealous. Greenville/Spartanburg/Anderson/Asheville Viewers who love Wendy Williams will be DENIED to see her unless they're lucky enough picking up an OTA signal from adjacent market that carries her show. :(

Greenville, SC are the unlucky ones and lame, sorry I have to say this folks.

Keep at it I will join you in attacking them :)
I believe that Viacom has a right to demand more money, to me thats not an issue. The issue is the ads they are showing is saying that "DIRECTV IS DROPPING 26 CHANNELS" when in reality it should say "Viacom is forcing DIRECTV to drop 26 Channels."

The whole industry is greedy and out of whack. These content providers such as Viacom have always been using subscribers (hostages) as pawns for their blackmailing. My solution is DTV should revamp its business model completely in that DTV should eliminate packages in its entirety.

All channel selections will be made through an “a la carte” format where Viacom and fellow jokers will be raising their subscription fees directly on subscribers as per channel basis and NOT through a bundle against en masse.

As subscribers, we can just simply pick and choose, and drop whichever channel that we no longer favor and let’s see how fast Viacom’s stock gets plummeted. As an added benefit there will be no more BS channels like the shopping networks, religious networks, etc. that will be subsidized because it will be an "a la carte" basis.

I agree Scott 100% the lies trying to make Directv the bad guy when Viacom is the liar and bad guy in this...But how how much is too much :)

I see it as a dual fault scenario. As Dangue said, Viacom did give Direct an extra 10 days or so to try to work things out in good faith. If there's no movement from the other side (DTV) towards an amicable solution, when do you pull the plug or play hardball? The answer is apparently "after 10 days". :)

Truth is, I'm already fed up with DTV over two equipment issues they wanted to bill me for and am likely to drop this month anyway. But if they take 26 channels away even for a day, I somehow don't see them crediting everyone's bill on a pro-rated basis for lost time as they should. Of course, with this group of channels, I can't see them actually going dark either. Hope I'm wrong as I love a good P.R. battle, but somehow I think by Midnight both sides will be claiming a victory and Snooki will continue to be an unwanted visitor in most of your homes. Haha

I think it's well overdue for everyone to have an a la carte option....

I love this LOL

Q: Why is Viacom telling customers it could lose more networks than Directv acknowledges

A:
Viacom’s double-counting eight networks that are already available in high definition. They’re counting both the high definition and old standard definition version of the same network to pad their total.
