The Directv H25 receiver has a plug to connect a dongle for a RF remote. The best price for these seems to on ebay. I want a RF remote to use on TV's in other rooms that are going to be connected to the main receiver thru RG6 coax. The H25 came with just an IR remote which is sufficient for the TV located in the room with the H25. If I plug in this dongle for the RF remote will it disable the infrared eye and make my existing IR remote inoperable? If so then I would have to purchase a second RF remote to replace the stock IR remote.

Just connecting the dongle will not disable IR but when you program the RF remote the IR is disabled. It can only operate as RF or IR.
