Have had this DirecTV box for a few years now, and once in awhile the screen would "shrink", especially on non-HD channels. I would ensure my settings were right and all would be fine for a few months, and then it'd happen again.

Well, fast forward to now and it's doing it all the time... even in HD channels. DirecTV support was no help. They told me my issue would be escalated to a higher level of tech support and I never heard back.

Basically, need to know what my settings should be in Settings>Display in order to have full screen even if the channel is not in HD.

Current settings are:

Video -
* Native: On
* Screen Format: Stretch
* Bar Color: Black
* HDMI Control: On

TV Ratio -
* Widescreen

TV Resolutions
* 1080i and 1080p --- NOTE: Sometimes, when the issue occurs, I will check this setting and 480p is selected

I've already tried different HDMI ports in my TV, so this is definitely a DirecTV / box issue.

New here, appreciate the help.

:welcome to SatelliteGuys Darin3!!

I moved your thread to the DirecTV forum. You will get much better help here. ;)

Interesting - I think I've had native on for years but it was never causing the 480p to get checked.

I've turned it off and so far it hasn't spazzed out.

Thanks for the reply.
