In my continuous quest to find a better mousetrap, I'm wondering what would happen if I connected one of these fancy large EMP DiSeqC 2.0 multiswitches to a DiSeqC 1.2-compatible FTA receivers (i.e. a 16x8...).

Reading the DiSeqC spec, I see both 2.0 and 1.2 have 16 switch states defined.

That nearly all commands defined in 2.0 are in 1.2.

The biggest difference between 2.0 and 1.2 seen is 2.0 is a two-way standard, allowing acks/nacks from the slave -> master to confirm receipt and execution of commands sent by the slave. So what would happen if the 1.2 master didn't hear or use them?

Any ideas, comments welcome.

Thanks.
