I wish to point to 118.7 and 119.1 satellites only using Dish 500 plus. I wish to know the Azimuth, Elevation and Skew for zip code 29223. I have a DP44 switch, would I need this for the above setup?
Also I have an old Dish Network 2800/ 3000 receiver, will this work for the above satellites.

I am able to point to 119.10 satellite using my old dish 500, but I am not able to point to it using Dish 500 plus.
Thanks in Advance.

the az and skew are about the same as the 500 dish, the elevation is usually 2-3 degrees lower

the 2800 and 3000 are considered obsolete and will not be reactivated if they are currently disabled

if you have the old style 500+, you only need a dp21 or dp34 switch with a dp adapter on the 2800
the 3000 will not work with dp equip

Hi TimberWolf,
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. I have a Dish 500 plus dish, that has 2 separate outputs from the LNB for 118.7 and 119. Also my receiver model is 2800/3700 (Echostar). Can you pl. let me know if would be able to get signal from both these satellites on my receiver. Also if you could pl. let me know the AZ, EL and SKEW for zipcode 29223, I will appreciate it.
Thanks in Advance.

It sounds like you've described the dual band LNBF for 119 (high power Ku DBS) and 118.7 (lower power Ku FSS) for your set-up. That's good. It's supposed to be designed for you to aim at 119 ONLY, and that by itself will bring in 118 properly. However, I don't think anything older than a DishPro STB starting with the 301 will support 118.7. The issue is flash memory for the software and larger tables that the older boxes just don't have to support 118. Presuming you know that Dish 500 Plus supports 110 in addition to 119 and 118 all on the same reflector.

If anyone is viewing Dish 118 content on the old 2000's and 3000's, 4000's, 5000's, 6000's do correct me. I think it is DishPro and up STB's.
