No. How many decades has the industry tried to stop copying of content whether it be VHS tapes or DVD's? 30 years you say? Is it still happening? You bet. As for the idea that the satellite signal stealing has been stopped, you haven't been paying attention, it's still going strong. Can HDMI content protection be by-passed? Yep, in a heartbeat. No matter what the industry tries someone somewhere will beat it, history has proven that over and over, from beating Atari's floppy drive skewing to hacking C-band DigiCipher to DTV hacking and so on. The only winners will be, once again, the lawyers.
