DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

Maybe this whole announcement and numerous press releases about this deal is all just one big April Fools joke that will climax on April 1st.

Seriously...could there be a more fitting date, after all the speculation leading up to this contract, through all the negotiations, and through the life of this thread, than for the contract to really and truly be set to go into effect on April Fools Day?!? :haha

Would you prefer June 1st?

Where is the poll on guessing the date and winner gets free travel to bluegras place!! :D :p  ;) jk bluegras :)

If Dish really wanted to play a great April Fools joke, light up all the ESPN channels April 1st and include an extra one called ESPN8 and show nothing but competitve eating and dodgeball games all day long

As shocking as it might be to believe, M$G, $NY and YE$ are all greedier than DI$NEY. Charlie even gave YE$ the name your own price option to be put on a la carte and they refused.

Well, they're as greedy as any other RSN or sports channel. How many can you name that are currently a-la-carte? The only one I can think of is Fox Soccer Plus.

Just noticed that Ch 147 on hopper has espn buzzer beater simulcast but when clicked on it says this program is not available for viewing in your area

Also Ch 145 is sec men's basketball tournament w the same message. ..

Could that be 2 Ch spots when the channel are lit up ??? Buzzer beater and sec network

Not sure about buzzer beater (which btw was the HD version for this talked about today or been confirmed?) but the SEC is cause of all the major tournaments happening at same time all on ESPN

Not so, most RSNs that are carried on DISH are carried as part of your subscription package (Top 120+ and higher) at no extra cost. Reports were Charlie offered YE$ to be carried al a carte on DISH, that YE$ could name its own price, and YE$ could have 100 per cent of the monthly fee for each person that subscribed. YE$ said "NO DICE". Charlie once mentioned this on a Carlie Chat.
