Dish Survey on New Guide

Dish sent out a survey on a new guide layout they are testing. If you are curious, the survey will show the new one. I was not crazy about the potential change. If it ain't broke. . .

Uhhh… That would be going the wrong way. They should make the Dish Anywhere guide look like the Hopper guide. The guide shouldn't be made more simplistic and stupider.

I agree 100%. It's like Apple making the macOS system settings look like IOS on the iPhone and iPad, another stupid move. Dish Anywhere is not a good user interface, the Hopper guide is much better.

Email... I didn't fill it out because I don't use the guide 99.9% of the time.

The Dish receiver/dvr guide is one of the best and easiest to use. Sadly Dish feels the need to change it to the anywhere guide that does not have all the options and layout that the reviver/dvr guide has. Why change a good thing?

If Dish really wanted make the Hopper guide better they would also get the guide data from the web and not just from the sat feed that does not provide much local ota guide data beyond the 6 major networks. The Airtv for Sling is able to get most of the ota network guide data because it gets it from the web. The Airtv tuners use the same tuners as the Dish tuners so it works on the Hoppers as well and cheaper the Dish tuners.

Sling TV/Air TV does a pretty good job of sub channel guide for almost all my locals. There is like 6 recent sub channels that don't have it. My Tablo does a good job too and I do get guide information for almost all of them.

I haven't received a message in the hopper other than the first welcome message. That was a serious waste.

Dish seems to be getting worse with ota guide info. In my area, New Orleans, on some of the major networks the main station ota info is wrong, even though the info is correct for the satellite channel.

Thanks everyone for the input and I was about to try to fill out the survey except I could not find the e-mail. Now I know why most people were not aware of the survey as the subject of the e-mail is "Lock in your savings today!" which is about as misleading as one can get as I thought it was some promotional offer and thought I lost the email with the survey in it. But regardless, it probably expired as the link only goes to a completely blank white page for me.
