DTV remote problem with PANASONIC TV

Has any body had any problems with D-12 receiver and Panasonic TV- sets?
My techs have not been able to fix this problem with this TV-set brand
The problem is that after you program the D-12 remote it only works from about two inches from the receiver. We called DTV customer care and were not able to help; please if you or your techs have a solution please share thanks a lot.
PS is only some PANASONIC models only

Possibly an IR interference problem. Check for other remotes that may be spewing IR or compact fluorescent lighting shining on the IR sensor.

It's just a bad IR eye design on Panasonic's part, not a whole lot you can do about except use the original remote.
