DVI Switch Recommendation?

I have a Samsung DLP with a single DVI input and two boxes with DVI outputs (DVD player LG-3510A and the VOOM STB). I guess I am tired of switching cables around.

Can anyone on the forum with experience recommend a DVI switch?

I have found three, two support a remote control and all three claim to be HDCP compliant. If anyone can recommend an additional unit I would appreciate it. If you have experience with any of these please chime in!

First One (I am favoring this one): http://www.pacificcable.com/Picture_Page.asp?DataName=DS-21R

Second One: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1819

Third One (no remote control option, not good for me, might work for someone else): http://www.lindy.com/us/productfolder/09/97711/index.php

I have the Gefen 4x1. Works perfect for me. There had been reports that the remote conflicted with other equipment (forget which), but I believe they resolved that.

If your an AVS forum member you can get a discount at http://www.ramelectronics.net/avs.htm

The Pacific switch when it first came out was recalled because of HDCP issues. I see now they have a tenative new ship date of April 27th for the hopefully fixed unit.

Thanks for the heads up on the Pacific HDCP problems and the AVS discount!

I have a couple questions on the Gefen. Is the remote receiver on the same side as the cables like in the two port unit?

With the cables coming out of the sides of the unit how did you place it in your system?

If Pacific fixes it right, it looks like a real nice switch.

The cables do connect to the sides of the Gefen with the front having the LED's indicating the channel it's on and the IR reception. It's a real small box, and mine sits on top of my line conditioner. It could have been designed better, but it's no big deal. The best part is that it works as advertised.

The RAM deal is a good one. Cheaper than direct from Gefen even with the discount if you don't need the cables...at least with the 4x1.

I use the Gefen 2x1 with my Sammy DLP ... works great. The 2x1 is annoying in that the "out" DVI line is in front near the IR receiver. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Thanks guys! I will be ordering the Gefen 4x1 tomorrow!

Good move. Having those extra inputs will most likely come in handy for future use.
