Unless something's changed, The Big Red One will be a 4:3 very poor upconvert. I recorded it a few months ago.

All of the old Universal horror flicks of the 30's and 40's were filmed in 4:3. They look very good. The Fly was filmed 2:35:1 and creature at 1.85:1. However, even Monsters HD showed it in 4:3.

Looking ahead:

5-Max
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn 4:30 a.m. Eastern 8/4

My favorite of the Star Trek Movies

Frankenstein is on before the Wolfman, I caught it the other day... pretty good PQ from what I sampled... what day is the Wrath of Khan on?

[teachsac]

[long_time_Dish]

I'll be recording Wrath of Khan. Thanks!

[dfergie]

Timer set... that will give me II, IV, V, VI and First Contact and Insurrection in HD... now for III, Generations and Nemesis... Thanks!

[ripnbigc]

The Wrath and First Contact are my favorites. Thanks for the heads up/

[teachsac]

III was on maybe a month or so ago. For some reason I missed First Contact and they haven't replayed it.

Thanks for the heads up.

The oldest slogan on the Internet is:

Only Even Numbered Star Trek Movies Don't Suck !

Why on earth would you want V (in HD or not)?

After Khan airs, I'll have II, III, IV, First Contact and Insurrection in HD. I want TMP, Generations and Nemesis (preferrably w/o commercials) in HD.

Oh, and VI also.

[dfergie]

I have the TOS Season 1 on HD DVD... It rocks, maybe someday a provider will put these up...

[long_time_Dish]

It'd be fun to see them on HDNet, but then they didn't finish Enterprise's run...sheesh.
