Hi,

I am thinking about investing in a FTA satellite setup and was looking for a list of sats visible in the eastern sky. I have a clear view ranging from due north to due south. West is totally obscured. I am interested in primarily English speaking channels and want to assess weather there are enough of them to justify buying a system.

I am new to this and would appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks,

Greetings, WeissMan, and welcome to SatelliteGuys. :)

One way to get an idea of what satellites are visible from your location would be to go to:

Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com

Enter your address (or lat/long) and move the pointer to possible dish locations in your yard. Then in the drop down menu you can select various satellites and the pointer will show you what direction you will need to point the dish to view them. It will also give you elevation angles and skew settings.

You might also check out:

Here's another:

Once you figure out what satellites that you have line-of-sight to you will be able to see what FTA programming is available on each of them.
