My actuator is down and apart for a clean and grease. I asked about ssl (putty).
If you set and lost the password, if I remember there is a way to reset it using ssl (putty). Other than that you can reinstall 6 and not restore settings. Then remove the firewall plugin.
I don't think really think the Edision is doing you wrong. It's just that for reasons beyond me, being a 'training wheels' image. TNAP sure has a lot of stuff that pops up in updated versions that a least should be documented.
EB kinda' sometimes expects for users to immediately identify and fix the issues. I mean. Why a fire-stinkin'-wall in a satellite receiver? VPN? Maybe.
I was used to being able to straight forward use filezilla to restore the NIMS section in settings. That takes care of tuner configuration right away. After of course using putty to init 4 the box.
Then using me bleedin' channel editor (E-Channelizer) to write the bouquets and channels back in.
Without looking in the first place for a firewall that wasn't there before. I was probably like you. "The hell? Did I screw up the password? Is the IP messed up?" And pulling up my socks to ask EB. Glad you read my rebuttal there.
A firewall? Seriously?
All of those things (FTP, SSL, Channel editor) can be done in Windows. And since my lan IP is set static in the receiver (all image ip's are the same and the MAC stays the same). My router (which already has an okay firewall) has the dhcp lan set to reserve the same static ip for the receiver's MAC. No matter the slot that's running.
....if that makes sense.
