If so, look for Dish to do an extended free preview, just like they are currently doing with Showtime. Dish is making an effort to give us more entertainment options at no additional cost, for people who are stuck staying at home during the coronavirus crisis.

Thanks for the info on showtime preview. I usually keep up on previews but this one fell out of the sky!

I'm not getting these new Encore-HD channels, they're still coming in as SD channels. The Uplink Report says they are available. Can anyone see them ?

They all show Regional Restriction. Everybody is not going to see these. I don’t...

The key part is the "Available (Limited)" portion. This means that the channels are only available to some unknown group, presumably for testing before rolling them out to the general public. When these channels go public, there will be another uplink report to remove the (Limited) part, changing the status to simply "Available."

OK, thanks, did not understand the available "limited" meaning. Looking forward to getting these additional Encore channels in HD.

While you may be correct I have to put out there that, historically, when channels are uplinked for testing they have always said TEST not Limited. I agree that these channels are for some unknown group, we just don't know who or why.

They'll be used for the free previews while those of us that pay for these channels on a regular basis will still only get them in SD ;)
Actually, I expect the opposite, at least on Eastern Arc. When the HD feeds are rolled out to the public, those SD feeds will likely be removed from Eastern Arc, or at least moved to the 77 satellite where fewer people will see them.

I nailed it! Today's uplink report does indeed show the SD feeds being removed from Eastern Arc. (My original prediction about a free preview has not come true yet, though. I would expect that to happen sometime around when the Showtime preview ends.)

So is this an April Fools thing or is Encore slate gone to HD?

Half of the Encore slate has indeed gone to HD-only on Eastern Arc. (Both the old SD feeds and new HD feeds are available on Western Arc.) Uplink Activity Updates » Blog Archive » 4/1/20 at 4:54pm ET (v28) – 63 changes seen

I forgot that there was already an Epix preview scheduled to start when the Showtime preview ends. So, I have pushed back my guess about the timing of the Encore preview, to have it starting when the Epix preview ends.

Unfortunately, only three, one of which I already get and Suspense (okay), Western (not really), and Spanish (don't speak it). Hoping the others switch over.
