After doing a blind scan on this sat I pull in 3793V17916 even though I setup for "free only" on the osmio4k. I get audio but no video on those services because they're scrambled - so why are these scanned in on a "free only" scan? Also, did the United Teleports mux move? I'm not able to scan them in. Not even on a non-free scan. I'm using the TNAP3 image.

The receivers don't analyse the signal for encryption. It reads the data stream to see if it's marked encrypted. If the broadcaster doesn't mark it then it shows as FTA. Often you will find a channel marked encrypted when it's not. You miss some good stuff by scanning only for FTA at times.

Yeah, I noticed that. But, the ones that were encrypted had the "PAY" indicator lit on the osmio4k gui but I guess that's not good enough to avoid registering it. I've notice that sometimes there are FTA and PAY channels mixed together on the same mux but the FTA ones won't get registered if you're doing a free scan. I'll have to find a decent channel editor.
