Hi. Good to hear you have been able to lock 103W(cb). 103(ca) seems to be a no go. I've been testing and even with a 2.40 m. dish (fiberglass) I've had no success. What about 99W? You can catch NY or LA locals in HD. Are you planning on adding it? The receivers you have the H21's do they need tp. 31 to boot? I have a HR-21 and a HR-22 and it's a real pain to get them going if I don't have a signal from tp. 31. How's your signal for tp.31? Mine is about 50 from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. after that it's gone. Are your dishes fiberglass or metal?

Good to see he's got signal now, but he's not gonna get the locals from anywhere unless the particular spot beam happens to reach that far and he's already signed up.
He won't be able to call in and say can you activate the locals when he's not in the USA

Does he have a US address that doesn't get locals already ?
If NOT, he cannot get NY or LA Conus.

They have the so called "borrowed" receivers from someone in the USA and using it in Mexico.

I understand that, but they would have to be signed up in a city that has no locals available, or move, but to get the LA / NY without waivers would be quite difficult I would think.
He can't just be sitting in Mexico and call D* and say "I want to turn on the LA/NY locals".

If he were gonna try that , I would have done it while in the US at your home and make the changes there so I would n't have to deal with it from somewhere else.

Hi Gonzalo,

I have not tried 99W yet...We would need to get the 99(c) locked. However, I am more interested in 103 (ca) I believe (DTV12 Bird)....There are really very little worthwhile channels on 99W for me if you are not a PPV or Sport fan. However, wish 245HD, 402HD, 501HD, 548HD, 549HD were on 103 (ca).

I can not get the HD Locals nor the spotbeams, however, I do have standards on 2-KCBS, 4-KNBC, 7-KABC, 11-KTTV and their counterparts on the 38x....

Yes I understand the receiver needs 31 to boot...I only loss 31 for like 2-3 hours starting around 7:00 p.m. if I am right. I have the 101 pointed with the 2.40 mt dish. For now, just to avoid the problem, what I did to over come it is to have the recievers always connected. I never turn them off except when the light goes out....I really have not had this problem after I changed to the 2.40 dish for 101W....because I think I lose 31 for very little time and with the recievers always turned on.....however I will check again.

However, I do have a constant guide download problem now with the Slimline LNB activated, so what I did yesterday is change my configuration to SL3 from SL5. I understand when the sl5 is configured, the guide is also trying to downloaded from 119W (almost sure)....with the SL3 that will not happen. Lets see if there is an improvement. Will let u know.

I have both 1.80 & 2.40 mt fiberglass......

I am going to try to lock on 103 (ca), I will also try 99 (c) for the furture....If I get lucky will let u know....I really hope so.....let me know if you get lucky....

Thanks

Hi. I have a a 1.80m. dish for 99W and 101W (even transponders) and 1.80 m dish for 103W those are connected via zinwell multiswitch that goes to a HR-21. Then I have the 2.40 m. dish for 101 and another 1.80 m for 119. Those are connected to a terk multiswitch and go to a HR-22.

You are wasting your time. it's the switch. The 103 is stacked so that you need the 18/13v where you have the 101 set-up connected for the 103CA to work.

Thats interesting, at least you're getting 101 good in Mexico City.

I was kinda keeping track of the thread on the Dish Forum where they were losing signal in Mexico City due to the recent Dishnetwork Satellite changeover.

I know of a few who have DirecTV equipment south of the border. I know some may have problems with this activity, but myself I have no problem with it.

Maybe basic question, can u help me understand what that means ? I have 2 cables from the sl5 lnb down to the zinwell. Should'nt that provide the 18/13 for the 103 (ca) also in theory ?

The signals are stacked. That multi switch is designed for the single LNB solutions with Flex ports for wing ODU's. You may need a professional grade switch to do what you want.

Thank you grydlok, so I really need a dstacker ? Any recommendations ?

Gonzalo, what LNB you are using on your 1.80 mt dish to get the 101 & 99 together ? Is it a SL5 also ? or a SL3 would work ?

Thanks

FYI, Destackers are expensive, if thats the issue.

Not destacker, you need to combine the 103 and 101, and 99 into 18/13 v inputs not just the 18/13 22khz only.
