Fortec Star Rcvr Odd Behavior

I have an odd problem with my receiver, the vertically polarized channels all seem to be coming in bad, breaking up, pixelated while the horizonal channels are rock solid. Doesn't matter which transpoder or satellite, same thing. Any one have any suggestions?

Probably not a bad coax or connection, but check with a temporary cable.

Sounds like a possible defective LNBF. Have a spare to swap out?

If not:

• Place the receiver on a vertical channel
• Rotate the LNBF 90 degrees
• Go into the menus and change the polarity to Horizontal (18V) for this transponder

Does the channel still break up? If the signal is solid, the LNBF most likely is bad.

Thanks Brian, Dish is up on a second story roof. I'll give that a try this weekend.
