Fox News HD Up and Running

at work right now, but will top 200 silver with HD get this????pfan

Yes- I have 200 Silver w/ HD and have Fox News HD.

From reading here, since Fox News HD launched a little earlier than planned, HD only packages Turbo Silver and Gold do not have Fox News HD until E* programmers add it to those packages.

HELLO, Good to hear!:clap

However I'm not seein' it.

I don't even know what my programming package is called now. I signed up for HD Only plus my Locals last year after it became available. I haven't changed anything since. Does that make me "HD Absolute", "HD Only Turbo"...what?
And I'm located in the MidSouth if that makes a reception difference. (Yeah, I know, A MidSoutherner resisting the liberal brainwashing. Big surprise)

Is there a particular channel number that I need to tune in to for Fox News? Reboot my 722? Run diagnostic applications? Or just wait another day?

Thanks.

Can't get Fox News Hd or Fox Business HD

I just spent 1/2 hour on the phone with tec. support trying to get the Fox HD channels to work with no success. I was told that someone from Dish is going to call me back in an hour to see if they can't fix it. I was told that many other people are having the same problem and they don't know why. I don't know what the next guy can do that the last one can't, we will see. My first contact with them was online chat. I got nowhere there. My second try was by phone. I got someone in India who didn't even know that the channels were offered (with all the people who are out of work here, you would think that they would do the country a favor and hire Americans for the job). My last call at least got me an American but she couldn't help either so I have to wait for them to call me back. For those of you who finally did get it, what did they have to do to make them come in?

I was told a couple of hours ago by a Dish CSR that it is not available in ANY stand alone HD Pckg, only in HD add-ons with a standard or "classic" package. However, she did say it should be in the stand alone's SOON I called because I have dishHD absolute and wondered if that was why I wasn't getting it, and was told by the first CSR that I should get it, so he transferred me to Tech and they were the ones that told me it was not in any of the "stand alone" HD pckgs yet.

That is HD Absolute, it is unlikely new channels will be added to this package.

Oh, I found it at 9477. RED, Damn you Dish! I see three useless channels in a row that I'd easily trade for one Fox News: CNBC, CNN, GREEN.

So is Dish going to continue to charge extra for Fox News, while CNBC & CNN are included in the cheaper, more easily available teir? Meanwhile libs complain about "fairness" because they don't have a strangehold monopoly on the radio market, too.

COME ON CHARLIE. PUT 'EM IN THE SAME TEIR!
I don't want to hear any bs about wholesale channel purchases and why junk channels are in the basic teir vs good ones.
MAKE IT HAPPEN!

CNN is the most general news of the cable news-es. It goes in AT100.

MSNBC is also in AT200. So they are not treating "left" and "right" stations differently.

Also, "junk" and "good ones" is a highly subjective notion.

You may feel that CNN is general and not loaded with liberal bias, but I don't. I watch it, but I can only take so much of it.

How is MSNBC's AT200 position proof that they are not treating "left" and "right" stations differently? I don't know that there is intent to make Fox News require more investment to access, but the end result is that one has to invest more to get FNC than to get multiple liberally biased news channels. I didn't mention MSNBC's position, nor did you address the fact that CNBC is also included along with CNN in the basic teir in your response.

Also, "junk" and "good ones" is a highly subjective notion.

True. When I made the statement I presumed that this subjectivity was understood given the fact that I posted in a thread where most other participants are especially interested in Fox News. But thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Ask most people off the street what the top cable news outlet is, and you will hear CNN. Sorry you prefer different.

CNBC is the standard "financial" news channel. It has a far different focus than CNN. But the fact is the most liberal news channel and most conservative channel os on the same tier.

Also, what law says Dish needs to provide equal access to Fox News? Don't like it, leave!!!

Well, you seemed to need that pointed out. It seems you think the channels you want should be in AT100, and the channels you don't want should be in AT250. Since you do find this obvious, I'll say it. CNN, Fox News, FBN, CNBC, and MSNBC are ALL junk (but particularly Fox News). I guess they all go on higher tiers.

The fact is, we all have choice. And )-joking), its not my fault you want socialism, billing everyone so you can get Fox News.

And Fox news has been AT200 for a long time. It's not like this is a new development.

Too bad the ratings do not reflect that, which would explain to me why Fox is in the higher tier (if I in fact understood correctly that it is)

Well, with TurboHD I though I'd have it by reading the start of this thread.

Nope.. Just a BIG RED background on the program guide meaning I am not subscibed.

I do have Turbo-HD and the only additions were that they added the local SD's to the local HD's. When this market went on HD, they dropped the local SD's if the HD was available. Now they are back.,

The ratings speak for themselves.

Note two things:

1) Fox News is #1 in every category
2) Fox News is #3 in household penetration (see the very bottom of the report)
