Do you know if you need a subscription to directv in order to receive this for free?
I have a receiver and unactivated card. I just wanted to know if it is worth while having a receiver set up just for free stuff that directv broadcasts.

Yes, you'll need to be a customer of DirecTV with some level of subscription.

So it isn't worth it to have an old receiver setup. well I might as well leave it plugged in and find out.

They don't make the programming free and clear, they just make all active accounts able to view the content.

well i used to be a directv tech. Could always just put it on some one elses account! Rich people are so stupid. Any way I am not like that and have way to many morals. But technicians will do that, I know this first hand. This is why every customer should have a secret password, a tech can not activate an account without it. Sad part is I only had one customer that had it set up this way.

HBO cancelled their tv coverage of the klitschko fight that was scheduled for june 20 because he switched opponents because the scheduled guy backed out.

UPDATE: It will now be on shown on ESPN Classic....still june 20 afternoon.

Thanks. Nobody really cares about Favre and his same old song and dance retirement/non-retirement waffling.

This show will be watched by more people than the debut, just to see the "Artie Lange" Show. I know I look forward to taking advantage of the freeview and watching.

I wonder how the premium movie channels are doing with the number of subs. I'm frugal and don't see any value in any of the movie channels. I would subscribe to the $12.00 sports pak before I subscribe to a movie channel.

You do realize that the sports pack doesn't include pro games, right? No MLB, NHL, NBA.

Yes. But when it comes to paying $12 a month I would get more out of the Sports Pak. Why? Because of the other sports they show on those channels. I know all the pro sports games are blacked out but they do show other sports time to time. Movie Channels repeat movies over and over again. NESN shows some interesting shows .

My prediction is you won't see the Premium Movie Channels around in 10 years .
