Frustrated - tuner 1 pixelating

I have talked about this before but I seemed to have narrowed down my problem.

On Tuner 1, I am getting heavy pixelating every 2 seconds on any HD channels in the 70's or 200+. I am NOT getting them on my local HD networks.

I have also tried swapping out the BBC's to no avail.

CSR has no idea.

I isolated the problem by recording something on 73 and checking the other tuner to find this out.

Please help!

Have you checked your signal meters? This might be caused by a bad line or connector on tuner 1. You could also try switching the satellite in lines and see what happens

yes it could just be one of the cables is not screwed in tight enough.

thanks, but wouldn't that effect more than just the certain HD channels?

Actually, HD channels would be the first to pixellate from loss of signal because they carry more information than SD channels.

DirecTV does not carry HD locals yet, so the problem wouldn't effect the local channels.

Check to see if all the connections at the ground block or switch are good, ie. the dielectric or white part is flush with the metal in the connector. also check and see if there are any places where the lines to your receiver are crushed or bent sharply, changing the shape of the cable can cause signal loss, especially with HD.
