Finally we got the query that seems to be causing the issue... and like I expected it looks like some kind of automated maintenance script.

Now trying to figure out what is causing it.

I have disabled the Member List feature... The query that is running has to do with the memberlist, so for now I turned it off to see if it helps.

It appears this has fixed the problem.
