I'm at the end of my 2 year contract and I'm down to the Genie (HR34) and no clients. I've been comparative shopping Fios vs Xfinity vs Directv the latter thinking of downgrading to a Tivo box from the Genie. Anyone know the costs involved? Is a Tivo subscription also required? I know that Directv charges $199 for the box and I'm sure you are leasing but I don't know the monthly fees. Tivo with Xfinity replaces the HD receiver and you are issued a Cablecard. Fios sends me monthly bundle deals as my house is wired for Fios. I've heard and read on the Verizon Forums that the Quantum TV boxes have bugs that are trying to be addressed. I do like the ability to record programs but don't need all the tuners that Genie comes with... without clients it seems a waste of $. At this time I'm paying Xfinity $75 per month for Blast internet (I stream movies) and DirectV $75. Fios double play bundles start at $75 however I've been told you add $10 per TV and $22 a month for the enhanced Quantum TV DVR. Any suggestions? I'm not very experienced as I've been a DirectV customer from '96 to 2010 and then again in 2012. Xfinity has only been used for internet and basic cable. Thanks in advance for all replies and suggestions.
