I came across a ten foot unimesh dish with a vonweise actuator.. Is this a decent system for c and ku band... service? Can I use any receiver with this system to get channels.. Thanks

I have a 10' Unimesh, works well on c & Ku for me.
You can use "almost any" receiver, but will probably need a few add ons like:
GBox 3000 to run Actuator Arm
DMX741 Voltage controlled LNBF

I think some members here have unimesh dishes and like them, it should be good if the dish isn't warped or damaged. For fta, yes any of the receivers will do c and ku band signals.
You'll need a c/ku lnbf, or if you prefer the older components-a c/ku feedhorn with sep lnbs and a polarity motor. You would need a way to switch polarity if you use the c/ku feedhorn, the fta boxes don't have that feature, that I know of .
