Well directv had a Full proof Swm Technology for years now, that enables you to utilize 8,16, tuners with a switch the size of a DPP44.
You can be in denial of some things, But Dish has been chasing this type of technology for years.
And IMO they did it, Finally.
I bet if I had a 3 or 4 Hopper setup now, That Dish tech would be scratching his head and his balls wonder what the heck he was even looking at.

DISH doesn't allow VIP DVR's on a Hopper account. Period. It's their company and they're entitled to do whatever they want to do. That's all I have to say on this subject.
Again though , who's fault is that?DISH Tech wouldn't be scratching his head if taught how to troubleshoot 3 or 4 Hopper setup. I think DISH should have included the more than two Hoppers setups from the beginning. There are customers that want them and I bet small businesses and apartments too.

Dish didn't allow VIP dual tuner receivers because the technology wasn't there to make it practical use with the Hopper systems.

Because at some point to make the most of new technology and features it means older equipment can't be included. Why didn't they make a way for the old receivers to work on the Eastern Arc? Why can't I use some older apps on my Android phone with newer software if the developer has not updated them? Why didn't Android integrate them into the new software?

I'm not 'heated' just sick of the stupid circular 'debates' like this one and frankly I don't have the time to waste. DISH has all the technology they need and DirecTV's is not superior by any way, shape or form.

Well its simple why, the only way you can incorporate any VIP receiver into a Hopper system requires a Dish Pro Plus 44, or the customer has to have a separate satellite dish.
Why should tech support be forced to trouble shoot that mess?
Or even pay for all that extra equipment when you can just 2 hoppers and 4 Joeys.
And now you can get a Hopper 3 and 6 Joeys.
If you are a Camper, and do a lot of traveling, you're not worried about watching tv off a 722, a couple 211s are just fine.
Especially when you can just add a hard drive to them.
If your traveling enjoy the outdoors, and stop worrying about TV.
