Gotham Season 2: Jada Pinkett Smith to Return as Fish Mooney http://screenrant.com/gotham-season-2-jada-pinkett-smith-fish-mooney/
When Gotham season 2 returns at the end of February, the show will be rebranded again as “Wrath of the Villains” and WELCOME new DC Comics antagonists Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) and Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong). Now, we know another villain will be returning from a watery grave when Gotham RESUMES its second season.TV Line is reporting Smith will reprise her role as Fish Mooney in multiple season 2 episodes, though they don’t specify an exact number or when the villainess would make her official return. Fish was seemingly killed by Cobblepot in the season 1 finale of Gotham, and Smith’s comments about only signing a one-year contract for the show seemed to indicate she wouldn’t be back. However, Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller also commented on Fish’s fate, saying “nobody dies forever in the DC UNIVERSE, necessarily, so I’m hoping whatever happens at the end of [season 1] that Fish can and will be back.” Additionally, McKenzie recently revealed that all characters who are dead “are able to come back” perhaps teasing Fish’s return – or potentially alluding to other villains that were killed in the first half of season 2.

Gotham Set Pics Fully Reveal Nathan Darrow As Mr. Freeze http://wegotthiscovered.com/tv/gotham-set-pics-fully-reveal-nathan-darrow-freeze/
To be fair, there’s not a whole lot of ways that such a distinctively OTT-looking character can be faithfully adapted without resorting to a bit of camp – but this will no doubt conjure not-so fond recollections of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s much-maligned take on Freeze from Joel Schumacher’s Batman And Robin.
Whatever you may think of Gotham‘s take on this icy antagonist, one thing is for sure: this marks a radical departure from the previous villain incarnations we’ve seen on the show, and may well herald the way for more fantastical Bat-foes such as Clayface and Killer Croc.

Gotham Fans, Did You Catch Jada Pinkett Smith’s Surprise Return in the Midseason Premiere?! http://www.eonline.com/news/744497/...h-s-surprise-return-in-the-midseason-premiere
The fish is back in the water a little early.Though Jada Pinkett Smith was expected to return to Fox's Gotham later in the second season, her character Fish Mooney actually made a blink-and-you'll-miss-her appearance in tonight's midseason premiere—in a very surprising way.
When we chatted with Robin Lord Taylor about Jada Pinkett Smith's return, he pointed out the moment, which happens when new baddie Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong) is in his secret experiment lab in Arkham Asylum.
"There was one shot in Indian Hill, where they are doing all the medical experiments, but in the background, there's a wide shot and you see a tank where you see a body is suspended and it's Fish's hair," he revealed to E! News at the Savannah College of Art and Design's aTVfest television festival in Atlanta earlier this month. "It's from the back and you don't see her face, but it's very clearly Fish, and it was written that way in the script."

BD WONG SHARES SECRETS OF "GOTHAM'S" HUGO STRANGE, TEASES RISE OF AZRAEL http://www.comicbookresources.com/a...of-gothams-hugo-strange-teases-rise-of-azrael
Though he's portrayed a broad range of characters throughout his storied career, tonight's debut of BD Wong as "Gotham's" Hugo Strange marks the first time the actor has entered the superhero realm. Or, it might be more accurate to say supervillain.Wong's Strange, a brilliant professor and psychiatrist heading up Arkham Asylum, is the latest classic Batman character to be reimagined by the Fox series. Though his character's motives are noble -- he wants to cure criminals and return them to society -- his mad scientist approach involves conducting radical experiments on the patients and poking around in their minds. Despite his good intentions, it's a program that could leave the criminally insane more damaged and dangerous than ever when released back onto Gotham City's streets.Ahead of his debut on "Gotham's" mid-season premiere, Wong spoke with CBR News about bringing Hugo Strange's classic comic book look to life, and why the character isn't exactly a villain when we first meet him. The actor also ponders what we really know about Theo Galvan's death and the arrival of Azrael, and gives his answer on whether he'd classify Hugo Strange as an evil genius or mad scientist.

Gotham Cast Talks Cool New Criminal, Penguin's Strange Dilemma, Jim's Lie http://tvline.com/2016/02/29/gotham-season-2-winter-premiere-mr-freeze-hugo-strange/
A cold front blew through the winter premiere of Gotham Season 2 on Monday night, as Mr. Freeze was born, Penguin found himself in a chilling situation and Jim did what he could to avoid cooling his heels in the clink. At the Fox drama’s premiere party on Monday night, TVLine spoke with the cast about the midseason twists and what’s on tap moving forward.DEAD SILENCE | Appearing before ADA Harvey Dent, Jim sold a story of how he had no role in whatever became of maniacal mayor Theo Galavan. Captain Barnes has his suspicions and Penguin backed Gordon’s testimony (before getting locked up), so Jim Gothamcan now breathe easy, right? Wrong. “Intuitively, he understands that there is a price to be paid,” says Ben McKenzie. “He’s aware that at some point, the other shoe is going to drop.” So in the meantime, expect the GCPD’s former “boy scout” to present “a very cold, hard face” — a dichotomy in keeping with the Batman saga at large. “That’s a theme we’ve been playing with all along, how you can have this public persona and this private truth you’re hiding, and Jim is finally hiding something really explosive,” says his portrayer. “So no, he isn’t breathing easier. The devil is nipping at his heels.”

WATCH: NEW "GOTHAM" PROMO FOR "A DEAD MAN FEELS NO COLD" http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/watch-new-gotham-promo-for-a-dead-man-feels-no-cold
"Gotham" returned to Fox tonight, and teed up the back half of season two. While the first half of the season was dubiously called "Rise of the Villains," this half is being hailed as the "Wrath of the Villains." As can be seen in the new trailer below, the wrath of Mr. Freeze and Hugo Strange will wreck havoc on both the heroes and villains of "Gotham" this season.According to the episode synopsis, "Gordon, Bullock and Barnes continue the search for Victor Fries (guest star Nathan Darrow), they are forced to look to his wife, Nora (guest-star Kristen Hager), for help. Meanwhile, Penguin is introduced to Hugo Strange (guest star BD Wong), and Alfred reveals some crucial information to Bruce about his parents’ murderer."

Gotham Is Getting Another Joker Because Fox Can't Help Itself http://www.cinemablend.com/televisi...ker-Because-Fox-Can-t-Help-Itself-122577.html
Fox’s Gotham is lucky enough to have access to the gallery of infamous rogues of Batman lore, but it’s no surprise that the show has already toyed with introducing the biggest bad of all Batman big bads with the Joker. Gotham has been careful to make the point that the Joker is more of a psychotic mindset than any one person at this point, so killing off Joker 1.0 Jerome didn’t mean that the character was gone for good. Now, Fox is bringing in Joker 2.0, and she looks fantastically crazy. Yes, "she."Joker 2.0 will be played by Tank Girl and Orange is the New Black actress Lori Petty. Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller has teased in the past that a female Joker was a definite possibility, and it seems that a Clown Princess of Crime is on her way to wreaking havoc in Gotham City sooner than we might have guessed. A woman in the role is somewhat unconventional, considering the famous portrayals by Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, but Lori Petty looks suitably unhinged in the iconic Joker makeup.

‘Gotham’ Recap: Dr. Strange Befriends Mr. Freeze https://www.yahoo.com/tv/gotham-recap-dr-strange-befriends-mr-freeze-080854446.html
On Monday’s Gotham, Victor Fries became Mr. Freeze with a little help from Dr. Strange. Victor broke into Arkham Asylum, where the police were treating his wife, and got her out using a getaway car provided by Dr. Strange.Victor was hoping to freeze his terminally ill wife until a cure could be found. He figured he would go to jail and she would be taken care of by Gotham City. But his wife, Nora, didn’t want to live if it meant he would be in prison, so she switched the canisters in his freeze gun, which resulted in her death. Grief-stricken by the loss of his love, Victor attempted to freeze himself to death, but Dr. Strange had other ideas. While it was reported that Victor had died, he was actually kept alive in a freezer at Indian Hill. His body had absorbed the freezing agent he used, so Dr. Strange built him a suit to help keep him cold. While we don’t know what Dr. Strange has planned for his new friend, we bet his plans are of the nefarious nature.

‘Gotham’ Star Ben McKenzie Talks Mr. Freeze Twist, Jim’s Downward Spiral http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/got...-lee-break-up-season-2-episode-13-1201724549/
Spoiler warning: Do not read on unless you’ve seen “Gotham” Season 2, Episode 13, titled “A Dead Man Feels No Cold.” The tragic saga of Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) seemed to come to an abrupt end on tonight’s “Gotham,” with the scientist appearing to end his own life after losing his wife — but unbeknownst to Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and the GCPD, the chilly villain survived his apparent demise, waking up with a frosty makeover in Hugo Strange’s (BD Wong) underground facility, Indian Hill, with an icy chip on his shoulder. While Jim remains unaware of the forces that are building against him under the city — and right under his nose, if we count Edward Nygma’s (Cory Michael Smith) recent behavior — he has more immediate issues, namely the strain on his relationship with Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) and the blackmail material that Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) has on him, given his involvement in the murder of Theo Galavan (James Frain).Variety recently spoke to McKenzie about the pressure Jim is under both personally and professionally as a result of his recent actions, and the new and returning villains we may meet in the second half of Season 2.

What Gotham Is Actually Building Toward, According To Ben McKenzie http://www.cinemablend.com/televisi...ing-Toward-According-Ben-McKenzie-123327.html
Gotham has always had a lot going on at any given time. Between Jim Gordon and the GCPD, the villain du jour, and Bruce Wayne, there are usually three plots going at once. The plots didn’t exactly converge into one by the Season 1 finale, but it looks like everything will be coming together by the end of Season 2. According to star Ben McKenzie, Gotham is building toward something epic: I think the discerning audience member can realize that we’re heading in a direction where something’s going to have to give. Strange has been able to conduct his experiments pretty much in the dark – no one is really aware of it outside of himself and Ms.Peabody, and the monsters he’s creating are quite vicious, and you’ll see more of that as the season wears on. So eventually our hero is going to have to be aware of it, and I can’t give it away, but it will all make sense…I think the writers have a wonderful way of bringing it all together at the end of the season, not just Strange and Gordon, but Strange, Gordon, and Bruce Wayne.

Gotham's Morena Baccarin Welcomes Baby Girl, Teases Pregnant Lee's Fate http://tvline.com/2016/03/11/gotham-season-2-morena-baccarin-maternity-leave-pregnant-lee-status/
Baccarin on March 2 gave birth to her and co-star Ben McKenzie’s baby girl, named Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan, USA Today reports — but just days prior, the actress shared with TVLine that expectant Lee won’t in turn vanish completely from the canvas.Having already filmed her last pre-maternity leave scenes as of Gotham‘s winter premiere party held Feb. 29, she said, “I hung in there as long as I could! But I was not able to wrap the season. We definitely can’t shoot around this,” pointing to her belly.Even so, Baccarin assured, “Lee’s around. She doesn’t go anywhere permanently” — though her time spent with baby daddy Jim Gordon might be nearing its end, as they clash over his obsessive work ethic and murderous lies.

The Flash To Appear in Gotham Season 2 Crossover Episode http://screenrant.com/flash-gotham-crossover-episode/
Warner Bros. TV seems to think so as well, as it looks like another crossover has been negotiated – this time with FOX’s Batman prequel series Gotham. The news was broken by TVLine and quickly confirmed in an official press release by Fox, which states that Gustin will make a guest appearance in episode #21 of Gotham‘s second season. The Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti said, of the crossover, “We’re so excited to be working with FOX and the Gotham creative team on this episode.
