I have the H20 HD receiver hooked up via hdmi to my Sony KDL52V4100. With this set up I am experiencing "stutter" issues when I watch programs with a lot of action in the background (ex. American Idol). I have tried switching over to component connections but this did not correct the problem. Also, when connected using hdmi, switching from HD programs to SD causes the picture to be "zoomed" on the SD channels. I constantly have to reset the picture each and every time when I switch from HD to SD. I do not have to do this if I am connected through the component inputs. I have not noticed any issue when watching a dvd through hdmi, so I am thinking it has to be the receiver right? I called Directv and they told me that if I switch native to "off" this will fix it. It didn't. Also, occasionally the picture will actually freeze for a split second and then continue. The "stuttering" during American Idol is almost constant. (I think it has to do with all the background imaging that show has)

Try the Sony's HD settings and turn Dynamics off, and set teh Zoom rate to normal. Also make sure you have 720p and 1080i selected with Native On and Let the D* box control the Sony. Not everything looks better with a bigger number.

Lots of people are reporting issues with Fox signals in different cities, and with American Idol in particular. It's something to do with the equipment at your local Fox station, and the way the DD 5.1 audio is handled.

When you are watching action, sports, or any thing fast set the box resolution to 720 this is best for action. Hope this helps
