H21-25/HR20-24/R22 CE Release for the Weekend of 11.18

IMO a wifi reciever would not be any good or worth the money for development considering the SWiM system and MOCA.... Broadband over cable is proven to be reliable and powerful. And so far since I have had the entire system running it has worked flawlessly be it VOD, MediaShare, or whole home dvr. Coupled with high bandwith cable internet it runs like a dream.

IMO the wi-fi addition has to do with Wireless Cinema Connection Kit. In the owners manual for the CCK-W it gives instructions on how to connect your receiver wirelessly to your network using the CCK-K. Now my only question is,having the CCK-W hooked up to your DECA network, does it allow you to set up each receiver to connect to your wireless router,or would you need a CCK-W connected to each receiver(1 per receiver). My last question would be could you have both the wired broadband adapter & the CCK-W hooked up together & let each of your receivers choose in the set-up whether to go wired or wireless? I know the question would be "why have both?" I just say,"why not(if it is possible)?"

Think I would agree, the wireless kit:

Directv also supports a linksys wireless ethernet bridge from years ago, WET610 Linksys I think. Probably the same setup screens, expect this CE tweaked the wifi setup process.

I didn't get it last night, I went to bed as it was searching for software. I'll try tonight since a couple of weeks ago I was a little too early and dl the national release and lost the hd gui. :(

I called DirecTV a half hour ago (11/29/2011) and they said that the new firmware upgrade for the HD GUI was being downloaded last night and tomorrow BUT there were issues being looked at that their people were "aware" of that not all receivers last night upgraded. He then said there was no known date that downloads would resume or the issues in last nights download would be resolved. So i guess its just a "wait and see". The new firmware went from active this morning to inactive an hour later. They disabled manual downloading of the new firmware.

For the record, I have an H24-100 and an HR22-100 receiver. Looking forward to the new look!!

Well you obviously have not read the rules of CE and no idea what is going on... Lastnight was not the release of the new hd gui. It was a CE night ...

-------------------->Last, and most important, by using a CE release you agree not to contact DirecTV support (email or phone) for any reason related to the software, or it's effects on your receiver. <------------------

Looks like as of this moment according to some guys here, if you have a H recvr, some of them you can get the software RIGHT NOW .....

Maybe I'll play with my old HR20 tonight and go back to the OLD software and see if I can get the new gui ... already have it, but what the heck.

Nope. I had that site open last night as well as Satguys and exactly when someone posted that 0x57b was downloading to the HR24-100s, I tried it and it started downloading on mine. I posted that it was not downloading to the HR24-100 receivers and the site was showing 04DB for those receivers. Try it next Friday and you'll see what we're talking about, that site is updating automatically and it's right on the money.

So, if you have a H24-200 you could get the New HD GUI software now ....

However, I just went back and looked at it, and it is now INACTIVE, now that it's into the next hour, maybe thats why.
