AMIKO had to retire the amiko

started having problems with it sending voltage to the dish. had to reset it every couple of days. and now it was locking up after a day or so. i liked it because it had the video and sound leads instead of hdmi. had to go back to the micohd and now the dish is working properly again. i just go to 95w, 97w qand 103w for satellites. chas

What model Amiko there Chas?
I have one of those fancy red ones (A3?)with the aluminum heat sink/housing. It works I think but I havent used it for months. Always have to install firmware from scratch to get it to power up and work. It's very pretty though sitting in the entertainment unit.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. You just need a beefier power supply. Check with KE4EST he sells them.
