Called Dishnetwork today to upgrade to HD programming and order a new HD-DVR. I was told by the CSR that they could not ship the HD-DVR and that it would have to be installed professionally.

The problem is that my wife and I cannot leave work for it to be installed. The earliest Saturday that it could be done was Sept 29th. What has your experience been? Did they ship your HD-DVR or did the installer bring it with him? Thank you for any advice.

An installer brings the receiver with them. The only time they ship one is if it is a same-same replacement of a defective receiver.

Did they tell you about the phone line connection?

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I was told about the phone line hookup. One other question I assume that I have to supply the HDMI cable?

YMMV for the HDMI cables, they dont normally provide cables, however, some installers will give you some.

Mine happened to give me a couple of HDMI to DVI cables.

HDMI cables are dirt cheap online.

www.monoprice.com or various other sites.
