HD-DVR (Whole House DVR) Question

How quick is the response with the HD-DVR from Directv these days? One of the reasons I'm not getting cable installed in our house is due to the crap equipment Suddenlink installs.

...and I would agree. The HR24 is equal in speed to the Vip series.

OTOH, the HR21/22/23 are all not anywhere close in speed of operation. There is discussion of the upcoming HDGUI which is all new code from what I've been reading, that is designed to give a better overall UI and be much quicker in operation. Due out in October, but 'soon' might be a more descriptive term for the actual release.

I just upgraded a receiver to HR24 last week and the performance is excellent. It plays recordings from my HR20 DVRs very well and the performance is the same as recordings on the HR24 itself.
