On our new 1080p HDTV, I noticed that 720p actually looks better than 1080i. I am not sure why, but everyone else at home seems to agree me with me, too. Maybe it is just the TV or the model of the TV, or maybe it is personal preference. Anyway, it looks much smoother with movement. You should be able to change 1080i to 720p on your Dish HD receiver. I would just try both to see if it makes a difference. I actually tried our other TV, but I saw little or no difference. However, that TV was already 720p to begin with although it can still be set to 1080i. I should also add that playing a Blu-ray on the PS3 looks great on the 1080p HDTV.
