hddvr reset

i just recently exchanged my hd dual tuner dvr for a new one because the old one was messing up. now this new one i have has a parental lock on it from the person who had it before me and i cant get the passcode. and i cant get rid of their recording schedule can anyone help me will a factory reset help or will i need to call comcast?
also how do you get rid of the mute feature when a schedule recording starts while the tv is off?

Can't help with the parental lock. Give Comcast a call. They should be able to help you.
As far as the mute issue, it's a known problem. The only way to get around it is leave your box on at all times. If you don't want to leave it on, take a look at this thread.

You need to program a button to work the mute function of the 6412.
