HDDVR24 Internet connection problems

After hardwiring an ethernet cable between my HDDVR24 and my router I attempted to connect to the internet several times using the guidines in the 24 user guide. The HDDVR24 connects to my local network but does not get to the internet. Shows error code 13. Has anyone else experienced this problem and solved it??

Can you provide more details on your overall DirecTV and network setup? Depending on the setups of each, you may not connect directly through your network but through the DECA setup / DirecTV internet kit; but we need a few more details.

I connect directly from my HDDVR24 ethernet connection to an open ethernet connection on my D Link router. Exactly like the user manual details.
