Hopper 3 Available Jan. 30th

This is ridiculous, I'm chatting again to see if the errors they got on my account earlier was resolved and I'm just getting canned responses about the next generation of Hopper will be available in early 2016.

I'm still actually in chat. This rep is saying I have to send the old equipment back and the previous rep said the technician would take it. This rep has needed much more assistance with my equipment changes than the previous one. I'm not sure this will end well...

You will have to send the equipment back the tech should not take it.

Always got to love the 1st day glitches... we have seen them for every release. :D

Now I'm being told "The two Hopper systems will not communicate with each other. This requires installation of two separate dishes." Uh, I won't have two Hoppers after this install...

In the same chat, I was told I have to send back all my old equipment and that the technician will take my deactivated equipment with them.

Well I finally got someone who could help me after calling the normal line 3 times and then the specialist line. The specialist was a little hesitant about processing the upgrade due to "system upgrades being done", but they said they would attempt it and it went through.

1 x H3
2 x Wireless Joey's
3 x 4k Joey's (The rep I spoke to didn't say I needed these, but this is what they offered)

They said a tech will be here between 12:00 and 5:00 PM today, so I was really happy about that! I verified it in the online account management as well.

"Upon checking we were unable to upgrade to hopper 3 at this time due to your location your location need for the 24" dish" So I guess I'll have to switch to someone else if I want 4K.

Got an error again. Says upgrade can not be completed due to low beam area. What does this mean?

This means you have a larger dish because you are in the low beam area for your locals. For some reason because of that it is not letting us process the request for Hopper 3. We have reported your situation as you already have Hopper, but unfortunately we do not have an ETA on a fix or workaround.

Well that stinks. This is not good news. I'm sure I won't be the only one in this situation.

Dustin, believe DirecTV is only other 4k provider at this time. Seems they have updated genie system. I have been with dish a long time, so will give them another shot to try and get my upgrade processed. Tried 5 people today, my order griefs out. Haven't been on direct for probably 12 years, I much prefer dish.

Same for me. I've never had directv. I've been with Dish for 15 years.
